Keep in Mind: Get a Travel Insurance

I am used to traveling without insurance. It's always been like that. Whenever I'll do booking online there's this page that they will ask you to get an insurance - I so hate that page. Hello! I am flying on a promo ticket. Hahaha! Me & my friends always click "no" on that certain page because if we click "yes" dang! our budget will be at risk and what's the essence of buying a promo ticket then. *pouts*

Last year, there's an H1N1 outbreak and we are headed to California to celebrate Christmas & New Year there. Though I know that time, December month, the people aren't that paranoid anymore about that outbreak  even me.

Friday night me and my friends went out then stayed at Starbucks (no sleep) until the sun rise and so its safe for us to go home. Then, when I got home around six in the morning, I need to fix myself because will go to my nephew's first birthday party. So, its been twenty four hours that I am awake. I got five hours sleep and need to get ready for 9am Church service.

After Church, I feel so weak. My whole body is aching and my head feels like exploding. Take note, our flight is on Monday night. I took some rest it might be I am over fatigue. Monday morning, I don't have a strength to pack my things (I hate packing) even I know I have to, I rest some more and took paracetamol. I got well a little, packed my things and make it 'till LAX airport.

When my Uncle picked us up... I was really coughing. My throat is so itchy. From LA we traveled one or two hours to San Diego. When we arrived in SD... Oh dang! I don't want to remember. Literally, I got a high fever, I was chillin', my eyes is a little reddish and I feel like I am dying. The next morning, I told my mom what happened and she was so mad at me why I didn't let her know. She said I can die that time. I can feel my own heat. Its really weird.

Around four, my face is different already. The back of my right ear really hurts. I am starting to have rashes in my face then down to my whole body. Mom was really worried because it might be H1N1 or dengue. She tourniquet my arm and saw little red spots. The moment she saw it she decided to rush me in the Hospital.

By the way, I don't want to go with them in the hospital. Why? because I never been hospitalized in my whole life and second, I was thinking of the expense we will have. It might minus to my shopping budget. :( I remember I was in tears. They thought I am so scared but I am so frustrated thinking that I won't have budget for shopping. I am such a silly girl. *big smile* then, I heard myself saying... It might be expensive? me, rushing to ER.

Dad said... no. We got insurance right? I was like are you sure they will accept it? In short, I was hospitalized for ten hours. They dextrose me. Examined my urine. Took some blood. X-ray my chest. Took 500g of Tylenol because my fever so high. Got interviewed by this hunk doctor. All my result are negative for H1N1 and for dengue. Thank you, Lord! I got home around 2am and everyone got their peace of mind. I am negative to either H1N1 or dengue.

I remember me saying to my dad that don't get insurance. We won't need it. Good thing he didn't took my advice. My insurance payed all my hospitalization charges, i think its USD$150. We got the insurance only for a thousand pesos.

If you are traveling and want to get an insurance. I can recommend a broker. Now, we always get insurance from his office.

Sprinkles Cupacakes, Newport Beach, CA

I heard that there's a Sprinkles craze and as a tourist I wanted to know what about it. I sweetly asked my cousin if Sprinkles is really yummy and luckily she haven't tasted it. Aha! Sounds like a plan. We will be coming from San Diego and they are driving us to LAX airport. So, before heading to airport, my cousin secretly (the oldies didn't know) exit to Newport Beach -hahaha! for us to have a taste of this cupcake.

The location was great because there are a lot of parking area and it was still early so no queue at all. The place is really POSH even the people that  lives there. The Sprinkles store I can say... they achieved the saying "Simplicity is beauty". Even their packaging is such a beauty plus its earth friendly. I kept the wooden fork which has Sprinkles engrave in it. :) We tried all the flavors so we'll know what our taste buds prefers the next time we'll be there. By the way, their specialty is the Red Velvet.

Sprinkles cupcakes for me is just ok. Nothing so special about it and its too sweet for me but I don't regret going there. One because I didn't pay for it and two I had great time with my cousins & parents before leaving California. The experience that I had from there is priceless. But the cupcakes hmmm... I didn't like it and its really pricey. Now, I am wondering why they are crazy about it? :s

SM Prestige Lounge, Philippines

I can't say that I am a fan of Shoemart (SM). Oh well, it is a fact that it gave me goosebumps when I learn why it is named Shoemart now SM. Who wouldn't anyway it was a beautiful and encouraging story. You can check this link  - - http://coconuter.blogspot.com/2007/06/henry-sys-sm-history-of-shoemarts.html - -he discussed there briefly how it started and became super mall. :)

Seriously, whenever I am in a hurry especially those random invites that entails dressing up, no doubt! You'll see me in SM. Lol! I'll start from my section - Girls to Women but before, I do check teen section for dresses because most of the time they got cute & simple one. Unfortunately, our body do expand. So even if I like it, I can't anymore. Haha!

Anyway, I do shop there because as their jingle goes "we've got it all, for you"  which is true. Now, they even have a lounge where you can just stay and rest while waiting for your family to finish their shopping. The SM Prestige lounge. It is really a wonderful treat for SM dear shoppers.

I was able to experience it because my parents are prestige card holders. The Prestige lounge is really posh and most specially this dry season, it is a perfect place. Instead staying at home and your AC is on all day better make use of your privilege as prestige card  holder. Go there, sit back and relax, they have newspapers, refreshments and it is a wi-fi zone.

For more details on how to avail Prestige card and have a glimpse of how the lounge looks like, just check this out - http://www.smprestige.com/smprestige/index.php?p=767.

Cheers to SM Prestige Lounge! xoxo

Lost in Singapore? find out helpful & reliable website

We all know that Singapore is a small country but one thing that I noticed and based on my experience; their land are well planned. You might say they should because they just got small land but what amazes me is that they are able to maximize what they have. I lived their for almost a year but there are still areas that I haven't explored.

I didn't have the hard time when it comes to directions. In Singapore, as long you have the postal code, you'll get to your exact location. The website that I am going to share with you is so helpful - http://gothere.sg/maps. You will just put there from point A to point B and they will give an answer how to go there. And if your are an iphone user there is a free application which is SG Buses . They will give real time bus schedule so you will know if how long will you wait and what bus to take and also you can download google map (http://maps.google.com.sg/) to your iphone. It will serve as your GPS. It is fun. I tried it myself.

Now, you won't be lost.

XOXO

Hash House a go go, San Diego //Must Visit//

=====================================================

Oh man! my breakfast that I couldn't forget. When our food was served, our table was filled with silence then we burst into laughter. Really! You will be surprised. I can't put it into words but I took some photos to show you.

By the way it was my first time to visit Hash House. I had really great time & was really stuffed  *burp*.  Here are other comments from the locals and tourist - http://www.yelp.com/biz/hash-house-a-go-go-san-diego

MAKE SURE YOU ARE STARVING TO ENJOY THE BIG SERVING.

Universal Studios, Singapore

Finally! Huuraah! I was able to get inside Universal Studios. Alright, let me explain....back 2004 I was in Universal Studios, Los Angeles but  I was just outside...strolling around City Walk. It was fun  (http://www.citywalkhollywood.com/) but I wasn't expecting that I'll just stay there and never see what's inside Universal studios. I don't know why we didn't went in, I am shy to ask my aunt tour guide, I might sound demanding & even if I want I can't I am just a student that time. Sad, right?

Then just this year I went back to California to spend Christmas and New Year with my relatives there. During our reunion we planned that we'll go to Universal Studios on New Year's day. New Year's day came, my cousin  is not feeling well due to her colds & flu. Our Universal Studios didn't push through instead we went Laguna Beach which I will blog about soon. It was fine because I know Universal Studios in Singapore will be open just the right time when I will be back there.

Together with my friends we went Universal Studios, Singapore to check it out. Went there weekend & purchased ticket at Universal Studios booth. No hassle & also no queue. We paid S$70 per head at that time and we find the price alright because included in your seventy dollars is $10 for food which you can use anywhere inside the park (try Loui’s NY Pizza Parlor ) & S$5 for any souvenir shop inside the park.

At that time, when we were there the extreme ride is not yet operating. But we had great fun. Please don't miss out - lights, camera action, the MUMMY ride (it is a must!) & do not forget to pose with your fave characters. :) And also please make sure that be there earlier so that you'll have ample time to visit all the seven places in the park since it closes early compare to other Universal Studios.

For more information since I know they extended their operating hours already just check this link http://www.rwsentosa.com/language/en-US/Attractions/UniversalStudiosSingapore

Enjoy!
